Why Prosperity Works

More than bookkeeping.

Good bookkeeping tells you what happened.

Prosperity Works helps you understand what those numbers mean, what needs attention, and what you should consider doing next.

We combine accurate financial management with practical business support so owners can spend less time reacting and more time making informed decisions.

Practical

Real-world solutions designed for how businesses actually operate.

Proactive

We look for issues and opportunities instead of simply recording transactions.

Scalable

Systems and financial practices are developed with the future of the business in mind.

Personal

Clients work with people who understand their business rather than being pushed through a one-size-fits-all process.

Who we help.

Prosperity Works is a good fit for business owners and nonprofit leaders who want more than someone to keep their books. Our clients want to understand their numbers, strengthen the way their organization operates, and make thoughtful decisions about what comes next. They don’t need to have everything figured out. They just need to be willing to look honestly at where they are and work toward where they want to go.

Businesses

Professional service firms, consultants, creative businesses, and owner-operated companies. Most come to us at a turning point: getting ready to hire, planning an expansion, or realizing that the way they have been tracking things no longer holds. We set the books up so they stay clean, and then we use them to answer the questions that actually come up.

Nonprofits

Grant tracking, restricted funds, and reporting that a board and a funder can both read. Nonprofit finances are not small business finances under another name. Erendira founded and ran a nonprofit of her own, so the questions an executive director brings us are ones she has had to answer herself.

We’re probably not the right fit if

  • You need transactions categorized, and that’s it.If that’s all you’re looking for, we’re probably more than you need.
  • You’d rather not look at the numbers. You don’t have to love them. You do have to be willing to answer questions, review results, and make decisions.
  • You want the mess cleaned up, but not the habits behind it.We can clean up a set of books. If nothing changes afterward, we’ll both be doing it again next year.
  • You’re a large organization with layers of process. We fit best where we can actually influence how things run, which usually means small and growing businesses and nonprofits.

How We Work

  1. Understand

We learn how the business operates, where things stand, and what the owner wants to accomplish.

  2. Organize

We establish or improve the financial systems, processes, and information needed to run the business.

  3. Analyze

We look beyond the transactions to understand performance, cash flow, profitability, and potential issues.

  4. Improve

We identify practical changes that can strengthen the business.

  5. Scale

When the business is ready, we help evaluate growth using data, benchmarks, forecasting, and strategy.

About

Erendira Cronkhite

Founder, Prosperity Works

Prosperity Works grew from more than 20 years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping, financial management, and business operations, along with firsthand experience building and running organizations of my own.

As both an entrepreneur and the founder of a nonprofit, I understand the realities of managing limited resources, making difficult decisions, and turning a vision into something sustainable.

I started Prosperity Works to bring that combination of financial expertise and real-world business experience to entrepreneurs and organizations that want to build stronger, more profitable, and more sustainable businesses.

Questions we get asked.

What does Prosperity Works do?

Prosperity Works provides bookkeeping, accounting support, financial operations, and business consulting for small businesses and nonprofit organizations.

We go beyond recording transactions. Our goal is to help you build reliable systems, understand your numbers, and create processes that support your organization as it grows.

Services may include bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll coordination, financial reporting, cleanup and catch-up work, system implementation, workflow development, and ongoing financial operations support.

How much do your services cost?

There is no one-size-fits-all package.

We build each scope around your organization’s needs, systems, transaction volume, staffing, and budget.

We’ll work with you to prioritize what matters most and, whenever possible, design a scope that fits within your budget. You may start with essential services and add support as your organization grows.

Our goal is to provide the right level of support, not sell you more than you need.

Do you require a long-term contract?

No. Our ongoing engagements are month-to-month and can be ended with 30 days’ notice.

We believe clients should stay with Prosperity Works because the relationship is working and we are providing value, not because they are locked into a long-term contract.

Can you clean up bookkeeping that is behind or inaccurate?

Absolutely.

We help organizations address overdue books, unreconciled accounts, incorrect balances, and poorly configured systems. We’ll assess the current situation, identify priorities, and create a practical cleanup plan.

No judgment. We start where things are and work forward.

Your books are behind. Here is what to do first.

Do you specialize in nonprofits?

Yes. Nonprofit accounting and operations are an important part of our practice.

We help nonprofits maintain accurate records while tracking restricted funds, grants, programs, donations, and other mission-related activity.

Support may include:

  • Fund, program, grant, and restricted-fund tracking
  • Donor and contribution accounting
  • Grant, event, and fundraising reporting
  • Donation platform and donor database workflows
  • Reconciliation between donor systems and accounting records
  • In-kind contributions and other nonprofit-specific transactions
  • Board and management reporting
  • Budget-to-actual reporting
  • Chart of accounts design
  • Internal controls and financial procedures
  • Accounts payable, reimbursements, and approval workflows
  • Audit, tax, and year-end preparation support
  • Historical cleanup and documentation

We can also work alongside your CPA, auditor, grant professionals, board members, and internal staff.

What a funder actually reads in your financial report

Do you work with clients outside Los Angeles?

Yes. Prosperity Works is based in Los Angeles and works with businesses and nonprofits across the United States.

Because most of the work happens through secure cloud-based systems and video meetings, location is rarely a constraint.

What happens when I contact Prosperity Works?

We start with a conversation about your organization, current systems, challenges, and goals.

Then we’ll recommend priorities and a scope of services based on your needs and budget.

You do not need to know exactly what support you need before contacting us. Figuring that out is part of the process.

Let’s figure out what your business needs next.

Whether you’re getting started, trying to get organized, or preparing for your next stage of growth, Prosperity Works can help.
